We delivered a series of priority site-safety upgrades across Addenbrooke’s Hospital, including new and improved zebra crossings, safer footpaths and cycle routes, hazard-warning surfacing, clearer signage, and refined car-park layouts. The works were carried out in phases to keep the hospital fully operational, with close coordination between our team, the Trust, and the designers to manage access, deliveries, and day-to-day safety in this busy environment.

The live hospital setting brought challenges such as heavy pedestrian and vehicle movement, maintaining blue-light routes, and managing dust, noise, and potential underground hazards. We addressed these through careful planning, strict safety controls, dedicated banksmen, enhanced cleanliness measures, and regular communication with CUH teams — ensuring the works were completed safely and with minimal disruption.
