The scheme involved the demolition of 8nr existing PRC “Airey Homes” and outbuildings, followed by the design and construction of 12nr dwellings for affordable rent. These consisted of 4nr 2 bed 4 person and 8nr 3 bed 5 person houses, to meet Level 3 of Code for Sustainable Homes and Lifetime Homes initiatives.
Timber framed construction with air source heat pumps as the primary heat source along with acoustic elevations to alleviate disruption from the nearby railway line. Other works included widening the existing adoptable road and service provisions for 8nr future plots coupled with careful liaison with Network Rail.
